September 11- Crab Run to the Nauti-Goose
Can you believe the perfect weather for a Crab Run. We could not have asked for better. Because of it, we had 27 riders meet up in Morgantown. In addition to a few Royals, we had RATs from Martins, Philly, State College and Harrisburg as well as friends.
The ride to NorthEast took us through the Brandywine Creek watershed through Chadd's Ford and the Northern tip of Delaware. The roads were great and seemed to be well received. Amazingly, with the huge numbers of bikes, we were able to keep the group together.
Upon arriving at the "Goose", we were treated a one man band (who was very good) and several high horsepower speed boats who were moving about in the marina. On top of that, there was an amphibious ultralight flying around the inlet area.
The food was great and so was the service. We got there about 45 minutes earlier than our reservation but it was no problem for the staff.
Afterward, it was time to ride north for "desert" - ice cream in Parkesburg. Unfortunately, our good luck at keeping everyone together ran out and a few bikes missed the turn at Rt 1. (Sorry - I thought everyone could see us turning!).
BTW - here is the route sheet if you ever want to retrace the ride. Click here.
